PRESS RELEASE: WI-HER Joins LINC in USAID’s Resilience Platform Activity

by Hanna Rabah

Vienna, VA – August 29, 2022 – WI-HER is pleased to announce that we will be joining LINC as a subcontractor on the five-year USAID Resilience Platform Activity (R-PAL) in Ethiopia.

R-PAL will strengthen resilience programming in the highland regions of Ethiopia by streamlining collaboration and best practices across local partners and government stakeholders. This work will support learning, knowledge management, and coordination efforts to foster resilience among households supported by USAID’s Ethiopia’s Transition into Graduation through Enhanced Resilience (TIGER) project.

As part of this work, WI-HER will integrate our expertise in gender equity, youth, and social inclusion (GYSI) by:

  • Designing and conducting a gender analysis;
  • Developing a gender integration and social inclusion plan; and,
  • Providing technical assistance to ensure the inclusion of marginalized groups in R-PAL’s programming across the highland regions.

“As an established leader in GYSI, localization, and capacity development, WI-HER’s tools and technical assistance have amplified the power of individuals and communities to drive equitable and inclusive local led change,” said Dr. Taroub Harb Faramand, Founder and President of WI-HER. “R-PAL is an exciting opportunity for us to continue advancing gender equality with our partners to build resilient communities in some of the most marginalized areas of Ethiopia”

WI-HER is thrilled to work alongside LINC, the consortium lead, in partnership with Environmental Incentives and JARCO Consulting, an Ethiopian consulting firm.

For more information, activity updates will be shared regularly via WI-HER’s website and social media.
