In 2011, Dr. Taroub Harb Faramand started WI-HER, LLC to give all individuals, regardless of sex, gender, age, ethnicity, race, religion and any other determining factor, the ability to break barriers and build their own platform to achieve their potential and reach further.

I look back on the past 10 years of WI-HER with pride and excitement. We have grown from a small staff of two to a diverse team of more than 60 (and growing) individuals with deep knowledge across sectors, including health, education, and energy. Our team embodies diversity, equity, and inclusion with more than 75% of WI-HER based in the global south. Impressively, our team members’ experience extends to more than 50 countries. Together, over the years, we have proven our expertise in enabling people to drive locally led solutions for equitable and sustainable development.
Through working as a doctor in refugee camps and leading USAID health projects, I discovered both the strengths and vulnerabilities of people and realized that it takes much more than health care to keep people healthy.
