WI-HER partners with ENCOMPASS, LLC and URC on USAID’s TASC4-Africa IDIQ
Press Release on August 12, 2014
WI-HER is honored to announce that we are partners with two teams—EnCompass, LLC and University Research Co., LLC—that won the Technical Assistance Support Contract Four, Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity-Africa (TASC4-Africa) IDIQ. Awarded by the US Agency International Development (USAID), the TASC4-Africa IDIQ will establish mechanisms to contribute to improvements in the health of people, especially women, children and other vulnerable populations in countries of the developing world, through expansion of basic health services, including family planning, strengthening national health systems, and addressing global issues and special concerns such as HIV/AIDS and other infectious diseases.
The purpose of this project is to implement broad-based or specific population, health, infectious disease, and nutrition (PHN) support requirements at the community, district, or national levels in support of Mission and USAID/Washington programs, including policy reform, behavior change, monitoring and evaluation, system strengthening, capacity building, and commodity system management and development. Historically, African Missions have used the TASC mechanism to develop programs that strengthen health systems and improve health practices, often focusing on HIV/AIDS and Most At-Risk Populations, family planning, and malaria.
For both IDIQs, and along with other EnCompass and URC team members, WI-HER will provide technical assistance in areas of PHN; customize technical consultations and program support; disseminate information through seminars, workshops, conferences, and working papers; engage in long-term, in-country coordination and implementation of PHN activities; and increase capacity of host-country decision-makers and technical personnel to design and implement PHN interventions.
We look forward to supporting both teams in the successful implementation of TASC4-Africa.
