Principal Investigators: Dr. Marc-Aurele Telfort (MSPP); Richard Killian (RTI); Taroub Faramand (WI-HER); Dr. Paul Emile Dalexis (IMA); Sara Pappa (WI-HER); Amanda Ottosson (WI-HER); Esther Nkolo (WI-HER)

Findings from Haiti, with a focus on two communes (Acul-du-Nord and Gonaïves), reveal several considerations around how gender equity and social inclusion (GESI) impact the neglected tropical disease (NTD) experience, response, and impact. The USAID Act to End Neglected Tropical Diseases | East technical brief and accompanying report detail key recommendations that supported Haiti’s Ministry of Public Health and Population, relevant departmental and commune NTD managers and planners, local community leaders directly involved in MDA, and drug distribution teams in their goals for eliminating lymphatic filariasis. The brief and report ultimately influenced how Haiti revised its strategic approach to MDA in order to reach target groups and work toward eliminating lymphatic filariasis (LF).
