Principal investigators: Wiw Gach Jing (Gambella Regional Health Bureau); Oromia Regional Health Bureau; Richard Killian (RTI); Taroub Faramand (WI-HER); Sara Pappa (WI-HER); Amanda Ottosson (WI-HER)
A gender equity and social inclusion (GESI) Assessment conducted by WI-HER under USAID Act to End Neglected Tropical Diseases | East (Act | East) focused on understanding and recommending potential strategies and approaches to support regional and woreda-level health officials in their efforts to improve mass drug administration and better respond to GESI-related constraints and opportunities to achieve trachoma elimination in various woredas in the Gambella and Oromia regions. Moreover, the assessment shares recommendations to support the regional health bureaus, and local stakeholders involved in MDA, to better recognize, appreciate, and operationalize important GESI considerations and factors in the NTD response.
