Olowo John’s thoughts on working on HIV at the Nagonga health center in Uganda

“My name is Olowo John, retired teacher and a community worker with the Nagonga Health Center on HIV. I was chosen to go to our community in the villages to educate people with HIV the value of going for medication. When the drugs are over they should go and collect it without any delay.

When my daughter was pregnant the husband would not allow her to go in for medication. After the delivery the child was sick. She wasn’t taken even for immunization. At least when the child was tested the child was found positive. I took that daughter of mine and him for testing and they were both positive. I advised them to come to Nagonga health center where now they are both getting their medication.”
